Help change someone’s life. Join the effort and volunteer to help community members meet basic needs for housing, job training, employment, financial literacy, and healthcare so they, too, can offer their skills and contribute to our community. 

As a volunteer, you might: 
  • Answer calls
  • Provide administrative support
  • Share your passion or skills, such as computer literacy, writing, or tax assistance
  • Donate time or money towards meeting basic needs
 Education Education
Volunteer to help improve academic achievement and engagement of our community’s youth.  Make a difference in someone’s future.  As a volunteer, you might:
  • Mentor
  • Tutor
  • Provide classroom support

Volunteer to help our community members clean up or preserve our waterways, land and air, access healthy local food, build skills for “green” jobs, and conserve energy.

As a volunteer you might:

  • Weatherize local homes
 Disaster Services Disaster Services
Volunteer and help Dubuque residents prepare, respond, and recover from natural and man-made disasters.  

As a volunteer, you might:
  • Provide immediate response to disasters
  • Repair and rebuild homes and businesses
  • Provide training in disaster preparedness
 Intercultural Learning Intercultural Learning
Volunteer to help area nonprofits provide opportunities for residents to interact across cultural differences and build bridges of understanding.

As a volunteer you might:       
  • Plan events
  • Offer hospitality
  • Interpret or translate
  • Share cultural knowledge and understanding

Volunteer to support returning veterans and military families in accessing benefits and resources, obtaining employment, adapting to re-entry, and finding safe and affordable housing in our community.  As a volunteer you might:
  • Provide support
  • Connect Vets to resources and opportunities to use their skills
  • Provide transportation to and from the VA Hospital
