Planning & Zoning

The Planning Services Department reports to the City Manager and concentrates on three major activities: City Planning, Development Services and Historic Preservation

Programs provided by the Planning Services Department include:
  • Community planning
  • Development site planning
    and review
  • Historic Preservation
  • Land use regulation
  • Zoning enforcement
Major collaborations underway include: sustainability, riverfront planning and development, comprehensive plan update and implementation, Historic Millwork District, Washington Neighborhood Revitalization and bicycle and pedestrian planning. 

The Planning Services Department's mission is to work in partnership with our citizens to create a more livable community and plan for a better future.
