    This is the regular meeting of the Housing Commission. The Dubuque Housing Commission consists of 10 members appointed by the City Council to three-year terms. One member shall be appointed by the Housing Commission to serve as a representative to the Community Development Advisory Commission. Meetings are held: 4:00 p.m. on the Fourth Tuesday of each month at the Housing & Community Development Department Office. The purpose of this commission is to undertake and carry out studies and analysis of housing needs and the meeting of such needs; to recommend proposed projects in the area of low- and moderate-income housing for the citizens of the City; to monitor the City's housing programs; and to conduct grievances regarding the Rental Assistance Program, except in the area of Housing Code enforcement.

    Players (ages 7-10) will be playing today. All participants will receive two (2) guaranteed matches. Prizes will be awarded for first place, second place and consolation winners.

  3. Movie in Comiskey Park

    The Multicultural Family Center is sponsoring a Movie Night in Comiskey Park on Tuesday, August 4th. The movie, "Frozen", will be shown at approximately 8:30 p.m. No pre-registration is necessary; FREE for all ages. Please make sure to bring a blanket and/or chair to enjoy the night. Popcorn will be provided and soda will be available to purchase.

  4. City-wide Amateur Night

    August 5, 6:15 PM - 8:30 PM @ 1500 Loras Boulevard

    The Leisure Services Department is sponsoring a City-wide Amateur Night at Allison-Henderson Park, upper patio area on Wednesday, August 5th. Registration begins at 6:15 p.m. and the show begins at 6:30 p.m. Bring your blanket, talent and join the fun!

  5. Music in Jackson Park

    The Multicultural Family Center is sponsoring Music in the Park on Sunday, August 9th from 6-8 p.m. at Jackson Park, located at 15th & Iowa Street. This is a family-friendly event and will feature live entertainment, children's activities, bounce house and refreshments. A local band will provide musical entertainment. Volunteers form the Multicultural Family Center and the neighborhood will serve food.

    The Multicultural Family Center is sponsoring the Flavors of India / India Independence Day on Friday, August 14th from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Multicultural Family Center located at 1157 Central Avenue. Pre-registration is required. FREE! Join community members originally from India for this important day! This fun filled evening will include authentic Indian food, Bollywood music, dance, Mehndi (henna tattoos), an educational presentation and games.
