    Free Historic & Architecture Walking Tour of Historic Old Main hosted by Mike Gibson and Jason Neises. This free event is part of Architectural Days. Dubuque Architecture Days offer the public an opportunity to learn more about Dubuque's rich architectural landscape. This year's theme, "Be Our Guest," shines a spotlight on historic hotels and guest houses in downtown Dubuque. The schedule of events for Architecture Days includes free building tours, Dubuque Community Schools Student Art Exhibit at the Hotel Julien, Pinot's Palette Paint N' Sip Class, evening presentation and Historic Preservation Awards, free movie showing, and a free history and architecture walking tour. Housing and Community Development

  1. Housing Commission Meeting

    This is the regular meeting of the Housing Commission. The Dubuque Housing Commission consists of 10 members appointed by the City Council to three-year terms. One member shall be appointed by the Housing Commission to serve as a representative to the Community Development Advisory Commission. Meetings are held: 4:00 p.m. on the Fourth Tuesday of each month at the Housing & Community Development Department Office. The purpose of this commission is to undertake and carry out studies and analysis of housing needs and the meeting of such needs; to recommend proposed projects in the area of low- and moderate-income housing for the citizens of the City; to monitor the City's housing programs; and to conduct grievances regarding the Rental Assistance Program, except in the area of Housing Code enforcement.

  1. COMMUNITY EQUITY PROFILE DIALOGUES - EDUCATION

    Monthly community dialogues on each of the profile's seven focus areas to gain insight from community members. The dialogues will provide an opportunity for community members to learn about the data, to discuss how the numbers compare to their experiences, and to share their own stories of opportunity and practices already taking place. For each focus area, a short survey will also be distributed to capture responses from community members who are unable to attend the in-person discussions.

    The Multicultural Family Center is sponsoring the Sixth Annual Taste of the World, Celebrating Dubuque's Diversity, on Saturday, April 18th from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Five Flags Center, 405 Main Street. Opening ceremony will begin at 11:30 a.m.; performances will be from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. Come experience entertainment, food and activities from over 20 countries around the world. Suggested donation for admission is $5 per person or $15 per family at the door.

    The public is invited to the Multicultural Family Center, located at 1157 Central Avenue, for the Flavors of the Philippines on Friday, April 24th from 6-8 p.m. Join community members originally from the Philippines for an interesting night of celebration, food and fun! We will have an educational presentation highlighting their history and culture and we'll also enjoy delicious Philippine cuisine, games and prizes.
