The arts and cultural community plays an important role in Dubuque's economy and social infrastructure. Through significant partnerships between the City of Dubuque, the Arts and Cultural Affairs Advisory Commission, the Dubuque Cultural Alliance, the support of individual citizens and numerous arts and cultural organizations, Dubuque is one of the most vital, creative and attractive places to live and work in the area.
Art on the River
Dubuque's Art on the River outdoor sculpture project was launched in 2006. Each year, artists submit a proposal for their piece to be selected as part of an outdoor exhibit. The selected pieces are displayed on the Mississippi RiverWalk in the Port of Dubuque.
