Responsibilities
The City of Dubuque Park Division staff maintains:
- 47 parks with 878 acres
- 25 park shelters
- 19 tennis courts
- 18 restrooms
- Four accessible fishing piers
- Two skate parks
- 262 units of play equipment
- Disc golf course
- In-line hockey rink
- Eight softball fields, one baseball field
- 4600 street trees
- 18 miles of trails
- 1000 picnic tables

Our staff grows 70,000 annual flowers in our own greenhouse that are planted in the park system and on city property, and maintains the landscaping on Highway 20, the Port of Dubuque, gateways to the downtown area, and other locations within the City.
PET POLICY: PETS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN CITY PARKS, except Miller Riverview Park, Heron Pond Trail, Granger Creek Nature Trail, John G. Bergfeld Recreation Area, and Jaycee Trail -- on leashes; or in the Pet Park on North Grandview Avenue. Municipal citations will be issued to anyone with a pet in a park where they are not permitted. FREE WAY TO FUN CITY
The Jule is again offering FREE bus transportation to students (K-12) to any regular stop on the bus route including any Leisure Services Department, Recreation Division and Carnegie-Stout Public Library activities.
