The DCFMHP was started in 1995, and it provides comprehensive information on all aspects of managing rental housing, with special emphasis on how to reduce crime in rental property.

This year's seminar was again co-sponsored by the Northeast Iowa Community College, and was held on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at the NICC Town Clock Center at 680 Main Street, Dubuque. In addition to the FREE LOCAL CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECKS of prospective tenants offered by the Dubuque Police Department, the City of Dubuque has developed a pilot program to reimburse landlords for 100% of the costs of Iowa or out-of-state criminal background checks.
