The Lead Hazard Reduction Program provides for the administration of a HUD funded forgivable loan for lead hazard reduction by providing financial assistance to low- and moderate-income homeowners and rental property owners to reduce or eliminate lead-based paint hazards in their properties. The program is specifically targeted to assist families with children under the age of six.

Grant Funding
Grant funding (in the form of three year forgivable loans) is provided for lead hazard reduction activities, inspection, and risk assessment of enrolled properties, community awareness, education, and training. The duration of the current grant activities is 36 months, from January 2008 through December 2010. The current project is designed for lead-based paint hazard reduction in 220 units during that timetable.
