Kerper Ct / Kerper Blvd Roundabout

New, Two-Lane Roundabout Now Fully Open

The new, two-lane Kerper Blvd. roundabout fully opened to traffic on Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2023. Motorists are encouraged to use caution in the area as traffic adjusts to the new roundabout.

Slow down, look around, and be ready to yield.

Additional reminders for using roundabouts safely include:

  • Yield to traffic on your left before entering the roundabout.
  • Drivers should choose the lane for where they want to go after the roundabout. Signs and markings will help them select a lane.
  • Like most other intersections, drivers use the left lane to go left, the right lane to go right, and either lane to go straight, unless otherwise indicated.
  • Motorists cannot change lanes in the roundabout. Choose your lane before entering the roundabout and follow the signs and pavement markings.
  • Drivers must yield to traffic in all lanes of the roundabout, not just the lane closest to them.
  • If large vehicles like trucks or buses are in the roundabout, drivers should give them extra space and avoid driving next to them inside the roundabout.
  • Drivers should follow pavement markings to stay in the correct lane as they leave the roundabout.

About the Project

The Kerper Ct. and Kerper Blvd. intersection improvement project included the construction of a two-lane roundabout along with underground utilities, ADA ramps, and street lighting. Constrution began in August 2023 and was fully open to traffic in early November 2023. The roundabout was constructed in two phases with the west half of the roundabout being constructed first and then the east half.
