Accepting Name Proposals for the Former Pyatigorsk Park

Submission Deadline is Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2023

We are currently accepting name proposals for the previously named Pyatigorsk Park, located at 16th St. and Kerper Blvd. The park is being renamed using a process approved by the City Council after Travel Dubuque’s Sister City Committee voted to end Dubuque’s sister city relationship with the Russian city in response to the country’s invasion of Ukraine. See the renaming guidelines and submit a proposal for consideration.

Park Season Schedule

City parks are open year-round. Park amenities such as restrooms, pavilions, and drinking fountains close each season on the fourth Sunday of October and re-open on the first Saturday of May. The road gates at Eagle Point Park and Miller Riverview Park & Campground are also closed during this time. Note, while vehicles are restricted, the two parks remain open and accessible to walkers and bikers during the off-season.

Reserve a Park Pavilion

The City of Dubuque offers multiple pavilion picnic shelters available for use by reservation at several parks including A.Y. McDonald Park, the Bee Branch Creek Greenway, Bergfeld Recreation Area, Eagle Point Park, and Murphy Park. Reservations may be made 11 months in advance.

Reserve a Campsite Miller Riverview Campground

Miller Riverview Park and Campground is a 20-acre park located on the scenic Mississippi River. It features tent and pull-through spots, handicapped-accessible restrooms and showers, fishing, trails, playground equipment, and more. The season runs from mid-April through the fourth Sunday in October. Reservations must be made online prior to your arrival.

America in Bloom Community Profile

In 2022, the City of Dubuque is participating in the America in Bloom (AIB) National Awards Program. AIB promotes nationwide beautification through education and community involvement by encouraging the use of flowers, plants, trees, and other environmental and lifestyle enhancements. The awards program and community profile focuses on seven areas of impact: community vitality, flowers, landscaped areas, urban forestry, environmental efforts, celebrating heritage, and overall impression.
