Park Division

The City of Dubuque maintains over 1,200 acres of parkland and over 300 facilities including an outdoor ice rink, baseball and softball diamonds, disc golf courses, skate parks and much more. Whether you’re visiting Dubuque for the first or hundredth time, there is something here for everyone.

Annual Season Schedule

City parks are open year-round. Park amenities such as restrooms, pavilions, and drinking fountains close each season on the fourth Sunday of October and re-open on the first Saturday of May. The road gates at Eagle Point Park and Miller Riverview Park & Campground are also closed during this time. Note, while vehicles are restricted, the two parks remain open and accessible to walkers and bikers during the off-season.

Playground Precautions During COVID-19

Playgrounds in City parks are currently open. Please take precautions to help prevent the spread of COVID-19:

  • Increase hygiene practices like hand washing and covering coughs and sneezes
  • Bring your own reusable water bottle
  • Bring table covers for picnic tables
  • When places are very busy or people are not social distancing, change your plans or choose an alternative location.

Reserve a Pavilion

The City of Dubuque offers multiple pavilion picnic shelters available for use by reservation. Reservations may be made 11 months in advance.
