June 25: 13 New Cases in Dubuque County, 481 New Cases and Three Additional Deaths in Iowa

Positive Cases
Between 2 p.m. yesterday and 2 p.m. today, the IDPH reported 13 new positive cases of COVID-19 in Dubuque County, increasing the county total to 473. For the state, 481 additional cases were reported in that same time frame giving Iowa a total of 27,100 positive cases.


Deaths

No additional deaths were reported in Dubuque County so the county total remains at 22. Three additional deaths were reported statewide, increasing the state death total to 694.

Testing
As of 2 p.m. today, the IDPH website reported that 8,644 Dubuque County residents have been tested, up 481 from yesterday, with a positive test rate of 5.5 percent. 275,462 Iowans have been tested, an increase of 6,727 since yesterday, for a positive test rate of 9.8 percent. One in 11 Dubuque County residents have been tested and one in 11 Iowa residents.

Hospitalizations & Recoveries
As of today, 137 Iowans were hospitalized due to COVID-19, three fewer than than yesterday. The number of Dubuque County residents hospitalized is three, the same as yesterday. Statewide, 17,008 Iowans have recovered (up 189 from yesterday), including 245 Dubuque County residents (the same as yesterday).

Long-Term Care Facility Outbreaks
According to the IDPH, as of 2 p.m. today there are 28 long-term care facilities in Iowa with COVID-19 outbreaks, two fewer than yesterday. There is one long-term care facility outbreak in Dubuque County at Dubuque Specialty Care, which has 51 positive cases and 24 recovered cases (the same as yesterday). Statewide, IDPH is reporting 834 positive cases at long-term care facilities (61 fewer than reported yesterday), 523 recovered (36 fewer than reported yesterday), and 356 deaths (no change from yesterday). The number of cases and recovered include both residents and staff.

Test Iowa Clinic Extended

The free Test Iowa Clinic being held in Dubuque that was originally scheduled to end tomorrow (Friday, June 26) will extend to next week.

Any Iowan who would like to be tested for COVID-19 at this location (Epic Health and Wellness Clinic, 1075 Cedar Cross Rd.) must first complete the Test Iowa assessment at www.testiowa.com. They will then be provided an identification number, which is required to be tested. To take an assessment or request a test, visit www.testiowa.com. Residents without internet access or who need assistance completing the assessment should contact the Dubuque Visiting Nurses Association (VNA) for assistance at 563.556.6200.

Appointments are not being scheduled but you must complete the assessment and have an Iowa ID and your Test Iowa identification number in order to be tested. Testing at the Epic Health and Wellness site will be conducted from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday.

There is no cost to individuals being tested and any Iowan who wants to be tested can be tested if they follow this procedure. A person does not need to be showing any symptoms. For more information, visit www.testiowa.com or call Test Iowa at 515-575-2131 or 844-844-1561 (toll free).

As of 2 p.m. today, Dubuque County residents had completed 21,099 Test Iowa assessments, an increase of 458 since yesterday.
