May 25: Five More Cases in Dubuque County

Since yesterday morning, the IDPH reported five additional positive cases of COVID-19 in Dubuque County, bringing the county total to 323 as of 10 a.m. today (Monday). For the state, 344 additional cases were reported since yesterday morning. Iowa now has a total of 17,557 positive cases.

Seven additional deaths were reported for Iowa since yesterday, bringing the state total to 456. IDPH did not report any additional deaths for Dubuque County since yesterday's update so the county total remains 16.


As of this morning, 132,655 Iowans have been tested, including 4,670 Dubuque County residents. Iowa has a positive test rate of 13.2 percent while Dubuque County is 6.9 percent. One in 21 Dubuque County residents have been tested and one in 24 Iowans have been tested.

As of 10 a.m. today, there are 37 long-term care facilities in Iowa with COVID-19 outbreaks (three or more positive cases among residents and staff). There is one long-term care facility outbreak in Dubuque County at Dubuque Specialty Care, which has 49 positive cases and 10 recovered cases. Statewide, there are 1,551 positive cases at long-term care facilities (up 22 from yesterday), with 663 recovered (up one from yesterday) and 240 deaths (up two from yesterday).

Statewide, 9,341 Iowans have recovered, including 147 Dubuque County residents. As of Saturday, May 23, 363 Iowan's were hospitalized due to COVID-19, including 10 Dubuque County residents.
