Dubuque Countywide Response to Coronavirus(COVID-19)

Tuesday, May 5, Update


408 New Cases and 19 Deaths in Iowa, Four More Cases in Dubuque County
The Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) was notified of 408 additional positive cases of COVID-19 in Iowa, including 4 additional cases in Dubuque County. 
  • Iowa now has a total of 10,011 positive cases and Dubuque County has 156.  

  • 19 additional deaths were reported today for Iowa, bringing the state total to 207.

  • As of May 3, 16 Dubuque County residents are currently hospitalized due to COVID-19.  Statewide, 389 Iowans are hospitalized.

  • 26 Dubuque County residents who tested positive are recovering or have recovered.  Statewide, 3,572 Iowans are recovering or have recovered.

  • 1,653 Dubuque County residents have been tested to date, with 1,497 of those test results being negative for an 9.4% positive testing rate. 60,569 tests have been conducted statewide and 50,458 were negative for a 16.5% positive testing rate.

May 6 County Board of Supervisors & Board of Health Meeting 
The Dubuque County Board of Supervisors and the Dubuque County Board of Health will hold a joint meeting at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 6, and will receive a COVID-19 update from the County Emergency Response Team.  Meeting details available here.  Watch the meeting here.
