377 New Cases and 17 Deaths in Iowa, 32 More Cases and 2 Deaths in Dubuque County 
The Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) was notified of 377 additional positive cases of COVID-19 in Iowa, including 32 additional cases in Dubuque County.  This is the largest single-day increase in cases for Dubuque County and the vast majority of the new cases are related to last week’s targeted testing program which tested approximately 1,450 people.

Governor Reynolds Lifts Most Restrictions Statewide 
Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds announced today that restrictions on most businesses will be lifted in all of Iowa's counties, effective 5 a.m. on Friday, May 15. This announcement applies to businesses including salons, barbershops, restaurant dining areas, libraries, race tracks, massage and tattoo establishments, and fitness centers.  Some businesses, such as restaurants and fitness centers, will still be required to adhere to 50 percent occupancy limits. Businesses will be issued additional guidance from the Iowa Department of Public Health.  

Bars and casinos must remain closed. The proclamation also continues the other ongoing closures and public health measures, including the prohibition on social, community, recreational, leisure, and sporting gatherings and events of more than 10 people through May 27, 2020.  

The Governor’s proclamation also strongly encourages all vulnerable Iowans, including those with preexisting medical conditions and those older than 65, in all counties of the state to continue to limit their activities outside of their home, including their visits to businesses and other establishments and their participation in gatherings of any size and any purpose.
