TEEN CAMPING TRIP POSTPONED
Greetings!
Last year the MFC celebrated 10 years as an organization. This year we are preparing for the opening of our 10,000 sq. ft. expansion. We are excited about the continuance and expansion of programs in our new space. Our success as an organization has always been dependent on the support of the surrounding community. We could not fulfill our mission, to empower all families and community members of Dubuque to reach their potential and build unity through diversity, equity, and inclusion, without you.
When we began the campaign to secure donations for a camping trip with our youth, we could never have imagined the outpouring of support we would receive. You all are amazing! To have so many people give, during such a challenging time in our world, makes it all the more special. For every child that we will be afforded the opportunity to go camping, many for the first time, I thank you. The MFC is committed to continuing the outdoor education program started by Dana Livingston and our Future Talk program so many years ago. Your donation has made this possible. As an avid outdoors person, experiences in nature are near and dear to my heart.
Unfortunately, our camping trip (scheduled for this week) is being postponed following the announcement that Dubuque is a COVID-19 “red zone” and the recommendation to limit social gatherings to 10 or fewer people. The safety of our participants, staff and the general public is our first priority.
The Multicultural Family Center is a wonderful place to meet, learn and engage with our beautiful community. We hope that you will continue building a relationship with our organization and the many wonderful people we serve, particularly our youth.
We could not have done this without you. Thank you!
