Dubuque County: 27 New Cases, 17 Recoveries, and No New Deaths.

Iowa: 536 New Cases, 861 Recoveries, and No New Deaths.

COVID-19 Vaccine Distribution

COVID-19 vaccinations for Dubuque County health care providers continue and will soon be under way for residents and staff at long-term care facilities in Dubuque County.  Decisions on details for additional prioritization groups for COVID-19 vaccinations are not yet finalized at the state level but will be shared in these updates as more information becomes available.  Timelines for additional vaccinations are not yet known either but will be shared as vaccine production and availability increases.

In the meantime, please be patient.  The goal is for everyone to be able to easily get vaccinated against COVID-19 as soon as large enough quantities are available. Once vaccine is widely available, vaccination providers will be offering COVID-19 vaccines in a variety of locations/sites.

Dubuque County:

• 27 new cases.
• Total confirmed cases to date = 10,469

Iowa:

• 536 new cases.
• Total confirmed cases to date = 275,470

• Dubuque County: 1,130 active cases (10 more than yesterday)

DEATHS

Dubuque County:

• No new deaths.
• Total deaths related to COVID to date = 135 
• Underlying Cause Deaths = 127, Contributing Factor Deaths = 8

Iowa:

• No new deaths.
• Total deaths related to COVID to date = 3,745
• Underlying Cause Deaths = 3,439, Contributing Factor Deaths = 306

HOSPITALIZATIONS

• Dubuque County Residents Hospitalized =  17 as of Dec. 27. (5 less than Dec. 21)
• Iowans Currently Hospitalized = 586 (33 more than yesterday.) 

TESTING

Dubuque County:

• 59 more individuals tested.
• Total individuals tested to date = 47,552
• Total tests to date = 117,885

Iowa:

• 1,404 more individuals tested.
• Total individuals tested to date = 1,342,807
• Total tests to date = 3,002,443

4 long-term care facility outbreaks (same as yesterday) with 97 positive cases (2 more than yesterday), 32 new positive cases in the last 14 days, and 43 recoveries (same as yesterday):

• Ennoble Nursing & Rehabilitation, Dubuque (8 positive cases, 8 in the last 14 days, and 0 recoveries)
• Hawkeye Care Center, Asbury (42 positive cases, 24 in the last 14 days, and 13 recoveries)
• ManorCare Health Services, Dubuque (23 positive cases, 0 in the last 14 days, and 15 recoveries)
• Stonehill Care Center, Dubuque (24 positive cases, 0 in the last 14 days, and 15 recoveries)

Iowa:
135 long-term care facility outbreaks (2 less than yesterday) with 5,117 positive cases, 3,226 recoveries, and 1,137 deaths to date.
