2021 Tri-Basin Summer Clean-Up Series
First Event This Saturday at the Bee Branch 16th St. Detention Basin
The City of Dubuque, Dubuque Metropolitan Area Solid Waste Agency, Green Iowa AmeriCorps, and the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium have partnered to host the 2021 Tri-Basin Summer Clean-Up Series. The series is part of an ongoing effort to create healthier and safer watersheds, preserve our natural resources, and promote watershed stewardship.
Three community clean-ups are scheduled as part of the series with the first event happening this Saturday.
- Bee Branch 16th St. Detention Basin Clean-Up
Saturday, June 12, from 9 - 11 a.m.
Volunteers should meet at the 16th St. Overlook at the Lower Bee Branch. The entrance to the parking lot is located along E. 16th St. under the HWY 151/61 overpass.
- Port of Dubuque Ice Harbor Clean-Up
Saturday, July 10, from 9 - 11 a.m.
Volunteers should meet at the National Mississippi River Museum at the red paddlewheel.
- Maus Park Clean-Up
Saturday, August 7, from 9 - 11 a.m.
Volunteers should meet at the Maus Park parking lot.
If possible, volunteers are asked to register for the clean-ups in advance at www.cityofdubuque.org/summercleanups. Supplies including gloves, bags, trash grabbers, and vests will be provided. Participants are encouraged to bring their own supplies if they have them.
