6/14/2021 -- For Immediate Release

DUBUQUE, Iowa – Lt. Bruce Deutsch, the Dubuque Police commander in charge of the Auxiliary Police, would like to thank the Dubuque Racing Association for the $2863.97 grant recently issued to the organization.

The grant will be used to purchase new lightweight long sleeve uniform shirts and three Microsoft Surface Pros to be used by the Auxiliary Police. Members of the Auxiliary Police, an entirely volunteer organization, donate significant amounts of time each year as they assist the Dubuque Police on major calls and special events. Their willingness to volunteer results in reduced overtime cost to the Police Department/City and an increase in the availability of sworn DPD Officers.

This press release was made available to all local media contacts (TV and print) and posted on the Dubuque Police Departments' social media pages. A member of the Auxiliary Police also handcrafted a plaque that hangs in the Dubuque Police Department lobby to recognize the grant.
