Dubuque Honors Indigenous Peoples' Day, October 11
DUBUQUE, IOWA—Dubuque will celebrate and honor Indigenous Peoples' Day with a FREE event on Monday, October 11th, 6-8pm, at the Multicultural Family Center (1157 Central Ave., Dubuque IA 52001). The two-hour program will feature music by the drum group Thunder Medicine, storytelling by Larry Lockwood (Northern Cheyenne), a talk by historian Mary Young Bear (Meskwaki), and a traditional Three Sisters Stew. Registration is required. If there are still openings, people may walk in and register. Covid-19 precautions followed including social distancing and wearing a mask. This event is co-sponsored by the Mulitcultural Family Center, St. Isidore Catholic Worker Farm and the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Dubuque.
