Fatal Garage Fire in Dubuque

DUBUQUE, Iowa – On 07/08/23 at approximately 0823 hours, the Dubuque County Communications Center received reports of a garage on fire near 14th and Central Ave. The caller advised a subject was inside the garage. Dubuque Police and Fire responded to the scene and found the garage to the rear of 1428 and 1430 Iowa St on fire. Dubuque Fire Fighters extracted one deceased subject from the garage. The deceased subject has not been positively identified. Fire fighters are working to completely extinguish the fire at this time. Dubuque Police investigators are also on scene working with investigators from the State of Iowa Fire Marshall's Office. This case is active, and more information will be released once its known.
