Blockage Causes Sanitary Sewer Overflow

March 7, 2023 -- FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

A blocked sanitary sewer line at the intersection of Stafford and Edison streets caused an overflow of approximately 75 gallons of untreated wastewater on to the street and into the storm water system.

The City of Dubuque Public Works Department was notified of the overflow around 8 a.m. today (Tues., March 7). Staff cleared the the blockage by 9 a.m.

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources cautions people to keep their children and pets away from the noted area, which is posted, for forty-eight (48) hours.
