Activities include preschool classes, pumpkin painting, the great sport of running, and an ooey-gooey Halloween party!

Preschool Early Learning ProgramsSmart StartAge: 3 – 5 yrs. Session 1: T/Th, Oct. 3 – 19, 9:30 – 11 a.m. Session 2: T/Th, Oct. 24 – Nov. 9, 9:30 – 11 a.m. Session 3: T/Th, Nov. 28 - Dec. 14, 9:30 – 11 a.m. Allison-Henderson Center Are you looking for something new to encourage your child’s learning? During Smart Start, we learn several concepts such as letter/name recognition, socialization/interaction, and listening and following instruction while in a group environment. Curriculum covers concepts in math, reading, and writing with the use of art, music, and play. This is a drop-off class. Preschool AdventuresAge: 2 – 4 yrs. W/F, Oct. 18 & 20, 9:30 – 11 a.m. Allison-Henderson Center Looking for a head start in early learning? Preschool Adventures is designed around suitable preschool themes to cultivate learning and teach participants basic concepts to prepare them for the next steps. Age-appropriate learning, play, and socialization will be the key concepts to this program! This is a drop-off class.

Weekday Youth Programs for Ages 18 mo. - 5 yrs.Kids in MotionAge: 2 – 5 yrs. Friday, Oct. 6 & 13, 10 – 11 a.m. Allison-Henderson Center Up and over, under and through, balls and streamers, tunnels, and YOU! Meet friends, build confidence, and have FUN developing your large muscle motor skills. This program progresses with your child... they’ll be crawling, climbing, balancing, and bouncing as we use our bounce house, balance beam, and other interactive apparatuses! This is a drop-off class. Music Makers & More18 mo. – 4 yrs. Monday, Oct. 16 & 23, 10 – 11 a.m. Allison-Henderson Center This class is designed to bring out the budding musician in your child. Participants will create their own musical instruments and perform traditional children’s songs. We’ll also explore rhythm and movement. This is a parent/caregiver and child class. Messy Art & ScienceAge: 2 – 5 yrs. Wednesday, Oct. 25, 9:30 – 11 a.m. Allison-Henderson Center Join us for a fun-filled adventure! Hands-on science projects (exploding milk, invisible ink, volcanoes and secret messages are possibilities), crafts, games, and more! This is a drop-off class.
Ooey Gooey Halloween Party18 mo. – 4 yrs. Monday, Oct. 30, 10 – 11 a.m. Allison-Henderson Center Halloween is here! It’s time for pumpkin guts, monster stew, and spooktacular games and activities. Parent/caregiver and child are encouraged to come in their favorite costume for this Ooey Gooey Halloween party! This is a parent/caregiver and child class.

Pumpkin Painting & Decorating for Ages 6 - 12Age: 6 – 12 yrs. Saturday, Oct. 21, 1 – 3 p.m. Allison-Henderson Center Participants will be supplied a variety of small-sized pumpkins along with tons of fun-colored paints and decorations to personalize them with and take home! This is a drop-off class.

Fast Kidz Running Class (Adults welcome!)Age: 9 yrs. and older, adults welcome Sunday, Oct. 22, 29 & Nov. 5, 12, 19, 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. Wahlert High School Track plus Thursday, Nov. 23, Turkey Trot Run Come learn about the great sport of running! We will focus on proper form, agility, mobility, balance, power, and of course the speed needed for running everything from the 100-meter dash to the 5k. All abilities welcome! Please wear proper attire and bring your own bottle of water. If you have any questions, please call Pam Connolly at 563-543-7154. About Coach Pam Connolly Pam has been running for over 20 years. She has raced distances from the mile up to 100 miles. She also participates in triathlons, including Ironman Wisconsin and Lake Placid. Pam earned her running coach certification through the American Sports and Fitness Association and serves as a coach for both kids and adults.

Fall Adult AthleticsWomen’s & Mixed Volleyball LeaguesRegistration Deadline: Friday, Oct. 13 League starts the week of Monday, Nov. 6 Roosevelt Middle School Women’s leagues are offered on Mondays and Wednesdays. Mixed (coed) leagues are offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays. All teams will receive a 14-match regular season. Game times will be scheduled at 6:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m., and 8:30 p.m. Men’s Basketball Leagues
Registration Deadline: Friday, Oct. 13 League starts the week of Monday, Nov. 6 Roosevelt Middle School Leagues are offered on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. All teams will receive a 12-game regular season. The top four teams from each league will automatically qualify for an end-of-the-season tournament. Game times will be scheduled at 6:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m., and 8:30 p.m.
