Kerper Boulevard Roundabout Fully Open
NOV. 8, 2023
The new, two-lane roundabout constructed on Kerper Boulevard fully opened to traffic today.
Motorists are encouraged to use caution in the area as traffic adjusts to the new roundabout. The basic guidelines are to slow down, look around, and be ready to yield. Additional reminders for using roundabouts safely include:
- Yield to traffic on your left before entering the roundabout.
- Drivers should choose the lane for where they want to go after the roundabout. Signs and markings will help them select a lane.
- Like most other intersections, drivers use the left lane to go left, the right lane to go right, and either lane to go straight, unless otherwise indicated.
- Motorists cannot change lanes in the roundabout. Choose your lane before entering the roundabout and follow the signs and pavement markings.
- Drivers must yield to traffic in all lanes of the roundabout, not just the lane closest to them.
- If large vehicles like trucks or buses are in the roundabout, drivers should give them extra space and avoid driving next to them inside the roundabout.
- Drivers should follow pavement markings to stay in the correct lane as they leave the roundabout.
