Traffic Signals at Intersection of Asbury Rd. and Carter Rd. Operational

Traffic signal operation at the intersection of Asbury Road and Carter Road resumed today.

The intersection has been operating as a four-way stop since January, when a vehicle crash damaged the signal’s control cabinet and wiring. The underground wiring providing power to the signals has been repaired, allowing the signals to return to automated operation.

The signals will operate on a pre-timed configuration for approximately two weeks until vehicle detection equipment is installed, which will allow the signals to function automatically. When fully functional, eastbound and westbound traffic on Asbury Rd. will have priority flow, with signal control when northbound and southbound vehicles are detected on Carter.
