Neighborhood Park Projects Update & Estimated Schedule

Plans have been developed for parks in the Eagle Valley, English Ridge, and Westbrook neighborhoods with construction scheduled for summer 2024. The parks will serve as social and recreational focal points, providing opportunities to connect with nature and each other!

Based on public input, project consultant WHKS & Co. prepared plans and specifications for the park developments. The plans and specifications have been reviewed and approved by the City’s Development Review Team.

The public hearing to adopt the construction plans, specifications, and estimated cost for Eagle Valley, English Ridge, and Westbrook park developments will be held during the City Council meeting on Monday, May 20, in the City Council Chambers on the 2nd Floor of the Historic Federal Building, located at 350 W. 6th St.

The meeting will be aired live on CityChannel Dubuque (Mediacom cable channels 8 and 117.2), streamed live and archived on the City’s website at www.cityofdubuque.org/media, and streamed live on the City’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/cityofdubuque.

The estimated completion date for the neighborhood parks is Nov. 15, 2024.

• Initiate Public Bidding Process - May 7, 2024
• Notice of Public Hearing on Plans and Specs - May 9, 2024
• Public Hearing on Plans and Specs - May 20, 2024
• Receipt of Bid Proposals - June 4, 2024
• Award Construction Contract - June 17, 2024
• Project Completion Date - November 15, 2024
