Heavy Rain Causes Sanitary Sewer Overflows 

JUNE 5, 2024

Heavy rainfall on Monday, June 3, caused sanitary sewer overflows at 2985 University Avenue and near the intersection of West Locust Street and Rosedale Avenue. 

Sanitary sewer manholes in those areas overflowed during the flash flood event on Monday afternoon and the overflows ended by 7:30 p.m. that evening.

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources cautions people to keep their children and pets away from the noted area, which is posted, for 48 hours.
