Broken Sewer Line Causes Sanitary Sewer Overflow 

AUGUST 30, 2024

A broken sanitary sewer pipe at 3490 Keystone Dr. caused an undetermined amount of untreated wastewater to flow into Catfish Creek and into the storm sewer system.  

The City of Dubuque Public Works Department was notified of the overflow at approximately 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 27, and the staff repaired the sewer pipe by approximately 4 p.m. that afternoon.  

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources cautions people to keep their children and pets away from the noted area, which is posted, for 48 hours.
