Death Investigation in the 2200 block of Jackson Street

DUBUQUE, Iowa – On February 17th, 2025 at approximately 8:56 am, Dubuque Police responded to the rear of 2268 Jackson Street for the report of an unresponsive subject lying in the snow.  Police and Dubuque Fire arrived and located 29-year-old Alexandria Brown of Dubuque and began life saving efforts.  Brown was transported Mercy Hospital where she was declared deceased.  Preliminary investigation indicates Brown was exposed to the elements for several hours.  Brown was sent for an autopsy at the State Medical Examiner's Office in Ankeny which will help investigators determine the cause of her death.  This investigation is ongoing.
