Ribbon-Cutting Tuesday for City Data Center and Information Technology Department

The City of Dubuque will hold a ribbon-cutting and open house to acknowledge the completion of a new data center and new location for the City’s information technology department.

The event will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 15, at 7850 Chavenelle Rd., part of the former Medline facility that was purchased by Dubuque Initiatives. Tours of the facility will be provided following the ribbon-cutting ceremony. 

The project includes 4,800 square feet of space for the information technology department and 1,000 square feet for a new data center to house computer servers. The data center houses core equipment to support the City organization’s growing technology infrastructure needs and includes available space to host servers for City partner organizations. It also features a battery backup system, as well as smart cooling technology.
