Port of Dubuque Marina Lighted Boat Parade Canceled Due to Low Registration

The Port of Dubuque Marina’s 2025 Lighted Boat Parade, scheduled to take place on Saturday, Aug. 9, has been canceled due to low boater registration.

The event was set to feature decorated boats inspired by past decades, as well as live music, food trucks, a kids play zone, and other family-friendly activities. However, the number of registered boaters did not meet the threshold needed to produce a successful parade.

“We were looking forward to celebrating the return of this event and are disappointed that we are unable to move forward this year,” said Haley Francke, City of Dubuque Parks and Recreation Business Development Manager. “We are grateful to the individuals and partners who supported our planning efforts and look forward to future opportunities to bring unique experiences to the Port of Dubuque.”
