Parks and Recreation Invites Residents to the Final “Y(Our) Story” Community Workshop on Aug. 6Aug. 4, 2025 The City of Dubuque Parks and Recreation Department invites residents to attend the final community workshop for the “Y(Our) Story” Parks and Recreation Comprehensive Master Plan on Wednesday, Aug. 6, at the Richard J. Slattery Youth Enrichment Center, 2605 Pennsylvania Ave. The workshop will be an open house format from 5 – 8 p.m. The public is invited to stop by any time to share ideas and provide input on parks and recreation needs and priorities. This is the last scheduled community-wide workshop for the master planning process, which will guide the City’s parks and recreation priorities for the next 10 years and beyond. Input gathered at this event will help identify opportunities, address challenges, and shape recommendations for the future of Dubuque’s parks, recreation programs, and open spaces. The “Y(Our) Story” campaign reflects the belief that a successful master plan tells the story of a community—where it’s been, where it is now, and where it’s going. Community participation has been a vital part of this six-month process, which has included community workshops, pop-up events, stakeholder interviews, an online survey, and more. Residents can still participate online by visiting YOurStoryDubuque.com, where multiple interactive tools are available to share ideas and provide input, including: - An online survey
- An interactive mapping tool
- A “Share Your Big Idea” public forum
- A budgeting tool to prioritize community needs
- A general comment submission form
