City of Dubuque Offices Closed, Services Adjusted for Labor Day
AUGUST 26, 2025
City of Dubuque offices will be closed on Monday, Sept. 1, for the Labor Day holiday. This includes City Hall and most other City facilities.
The City Council meeting which would have been scheduled for the first Monday in September will instead be held on Tuesday, Sept. 2, at 6:30 p.m., in the City Council Chambers on the second floor of the Historic Federal Building, 350 W. 6th Street.
There will be no curbside collections (trash, recycling, yard waste, or food scraps) by City crews on Labor Day (Monday, Sept. 1). These collections will instead be made on Saturday, Aug. 30. Carts and bins to be collected must be set out by 6 a.m. This change only applies to residents whose regular collection day is Monday. All Dubuque Metropolitan Area Solid Waste Agency facilities will also be closed on Labor Day.
The Carnegie-Stout Public Library will be closed on Sunday, Aug. 31, and Labor Day.
The Multicultural Family Center will also be closed on Labor Day.
