INCIDENT TYPE: Residential Structure Fire
ADDRESS/LOCATION: 1695 N. Algona St.- Dubuque

The Dubuque Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call on Sunday September 7, 2025 at 0609 from a neighbor reporting fire from the back deck. The Dubuque Fire Department was dispatched to the scene within 30 seconds. Initial responding vehicles included Battalion 1, Truck 4, Medic 4, Engine 1, Engine 5, Truck 1, and Engine 2. The response brought 14 firefighters in total for the fire. 

Truck 4 and and Medic 4 arrived on scene within 3 minutes of dispatch reporting the back deck was on fire. Truck 4 pulled and charged a fire hose to quickly extinguish the fire. Fire was extinguished within 4 minutes of the first companies arrival. No fire or smoke extension into the home. The back deck has extensive damage and is considered a total loss. Some siding was also melted as a result of the fire. Total losses are estimated to be $6,500.00.  

The Dubuque Fire Department was assisted on scene by the Dubuque Police Department. No injuries to responders or residents were reported.
