Special Thanksgiving Eve Flight from Dubuque to O’Hare in Chicago Offered at Dubuque Regional Airport

The Dubuque Regional Airport will be home to a special evening departure flight to O’Hare International Airport in Chicago on one of the busiest travel days of the year.

The additional Denver Air Connection flight will depart Dubuque at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 26, the day before Thanksgiving, and be scheduled to arrive at O’Hare at 7:35 p.m. The flight will be in addition to the Dubuque Regional Airport’s usual flight schedule, which includes an early morning departure and early evening arrival from O’Hare. The special Thanksgiving eve flight is now available for online booking via:

“We’re excited to partner with Denver Air Connection to offer this additional flight on what is traditionally one of the year’s busiest travel days,” says Dubuque Regional Airport Director Todd Dalsing. “This evening departure will provide an extra option for those travelling for Thanksgiving, including many of Dubuque’s college students.”

From O’Hare, Dubuque-based travelers going beyond Chicago will have several options to connect to an evening flight to their eventual destination. Denver Air Connection offers ticketing and baggage agreements with American, Delta, and United Airlines, which allow passengers to easily connect to those airlines’ networks of destinations.

Thanksgiving air travel set new records in 2024, with more than 5.8 million people flying over the Wednesday through Sunday holiday weekend, according to AAA. CBS’s MoneyWatch recently reported that Thanksgiving flight bookings are expected to climb an additional two percent for Thanksgiving 2025.

The Thanksgiving eve flight is eligible for the current airfare rebate program being offered by Dubuque Initiatives.
