INCIDENT TYPE: Structure Fires
ADDRESS/LOCATION: 8205 Seippel Court and 2222 Central Avenue
The Dubuque Fire Department responded to two separate structure fires Sunday evening, deploying multiple engines, trucks, ambulances, and command staff to incidents on Central Avenue and Seippel Ct.
The first incident involved a storage unit at a multi-unit storage facility, where crews encountered heavy fire conditions in a central unit with extension to adjacent units. All occupants evacuated safely prior to fire department arrival, and no civilian injuries were reported. Firefighters contained the fire and limited damage to nearby units.
The second fire occurred at a residential structure at 2222 Central Avenue, where crews arrived to find smoke inside the home and confirmed that two adult occupants were present. One adult male was treated and transported to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. No firefighter injuries were reported.
Both fires were extinguished by fire department personnel, and the affected residential structure was deemed uninhabitable. Preliminary investigations indicate both fires were unintentional. Investigations remain ongoing by the Dubuque Fire Department.
