Super Bowl Recycling Tips

Are you hosting a Super Bowl party this Sunday?

Score a touchdown for the environment by making your party green: Below are some tips to help you reduce waste going to the landfill.

Recycle these items: Plastic and metal beverage containers, plastic cups, plastic deli /carry out trays (Be sure the plastic contains number 1-5. Number 6 cannot be recycled in Dubuque.)

Compost these items: Food scraps, used paper napkins, paper cups, paper plates, and pizza boxes

Avoid purchasing the following items so they do not end up in the landfill: Styrofoam plates and cups, plastic table cloths and plastic cutlery

Deposit Return: Be sure to redeem beverage bottles and cans to get your deposit back
