17th St. Storm Sewer Capacity Improvement Project Starting Monday, July 9

Phase 2 of the 17th St. Storm Sewer Capacity Improvement Project is scheduled to begin on Monday, July 9. Phase 2 will impact 17th St. from Elm St. to Heeb St. Crews will continue the work they started last year — constructing the concrete box culvert, relocating underground utilities, and installing high-capacity storm drains. The project also includes total street and sidewalk reconstruction. 

To minimize the impact to abutting properties and pedestrians and motorists as much as possible, construction will be split into three smaller segments. Please note, access to area businesses will be maintained throughout the project.

Segment 1: Elm St. up to Washington St.

E. 17th St. from Elm St. up to Washington St. will close on Monday, July 9, for approximately one month. During this time, the intersection of Elm St. and 17th St. will be closed. Washington St. will be open. Motorists are asked to follow the posted detour route. Click here to see a map of the area.

Segment 2: Washington St. up to White St.

Approx Start Date: August 2018

Approx End Date: October 2018

Segment 3: White St. to Heeb St.

Approx Start Date: September 2018
Approx End Date: Early 2019
