Local AmeriCorps Week Celebration Includes Energy Blitz

AmeriCorps Week 2019 (March 10-16, 2019) is a celebration of all things AmeriCorps – from the programs and organizations that make this national service initiative possible in thousands of locations, to the members who have pledged to “Get Things Done” since the program’s inception in 1994.

Green Iowa AmeriCorps members donate over 50,000 service hours annually to fulfill the goal to help Iowans become more energy efficient by offering free residential audits and weatherization, energy and environmental education, and community outreach services.  They provide these services to anyone in the Dubuque, Jackson, Jones, and Delaware counties.

To celebrate AmeriCorps Week, the Green Iowa Dubuque team will conduct an energy blitz, in coordination with the Davenport team.  The two teams will work together to offer energy audits and weatherization to the Sabula and Clinton communities as a part of AmeriCorps week.

Weatherization can save a single home owner $50-$350 annually, generating a total program savings of nearly $75,000 across Iowa annually.  If you would like a free energy audit of your home and live in Dubuque, Jackson, Jones, or Delaware county, please contact Green Iowa AmeriCorps Dubuque at 563-556-5130, extension 71.
