March 12, 2019 -- For Immediate Release
DUBUQUE, Iowa – The 2019 construction season in Dubuque will include a
number of projects that are expected to impact traffic. The City of Dubuque invites residents, businesses, and other stakeholders to attend a public information meeting on upcoming construction projects from 4-6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 19, at the Jule Operations & Training Center at 949 Kerper Blvd. The event is co-sponsored by Dubuque Main Street.
City staff will host this open house format meeting to share details on City-sponsored construction projects planned for the 2019 construction season. The public is invited to stop by any time between 4-6 p.m. to ask questions and meet with staff coordinating the projects.
Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about project details and schedules, planned street closures and detours, and how businesses can best prepare for
any related traffic impacts. Access to all businesses in these construction areas will be
maintained throughout the projects and City staff and project contractors will work with impacted residents to maintain safe access to their properties.
Planned projects include sanitary sewer and water main reconstructions, stormwater improvements, street reconstructions, and the City’s annual asphalt overlay program. A list of major projects planned for 2019, including a map and a road construction toolkit for businesses, is available at
www.cityofdubuque.org/detours. (A publication featuring the projects and map will also be distributed with City of Dubuque utility bills this month.)
