How much time do I have to remove the snow and ice from my sidewalk following a snowfall?

Sidewalks are required, by ordinance, to be cleaned of snow and ice within a reasonable amount of time. The reasonable length of time is considered to be forty-eight (48) hours after the ending of a snowfall. If this is not done, the Engineering Division may have the sidewalk(s) cleaned and the property owner assessed for this service. Written notice is given to the property owner once per season prior to City work.  For more information, contact the Engineering Department or call 563.589.4270.  Please see the Winter Reminders flyer for more information.
