Newly Renovated Homes for Sale in Upper Bee Branch Area

DUBUQUE, Iowa — As part of a neighborhood revitalization program, the City of Dubuque is offering three newly renovated and historically restored homes for sale near the Bee Branch Creek Restoration and Gateway Project, with special purchase incentives available to qualified buyers.

The homes, located at 2268, 2290, and 2320 Washington Street, are within walking distance of grocery stores, pharmacies, shopping, businesses, banks/credit unions, churches, and restaurants. The Bee Branch Creek is a 4,500-foot long open waterway that serves as a storm water management component as well as a community attraction with a walking trail and bridge. The final design of the upper phase of the Bee Branch Creek Restoration Project, scheduled for completion in 2014, includes an amphitheater, plaza, benches, lighting, and over 500 new trees.

The City of Dubuque Housing and Community Development Department purchases, restores, and resells single-family homes to mixed-income homebuyer families. Purchase incentives are offered based on a maximum income scale. After financing is arranged and restorations are completed, the homes are sold via area realtors. In this way, the goal of increasing homeowners in the neighborhood is achieved while the number of vacant houses is reduced.

Purchase incentive rules, home details, and photos are available at www.cityofdubuque.org/beebranchhomes or by calling the Housing & Community Development Department at 563-589-4239. Flyers are also available at the department office located at 350 W. Sixth St., Suite 312.

Open houses for 2268 and 2290 Washington St. are scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 13, with 2268 open from 11 a.m.-noon and 2290 open from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
