On May 27th, 2011, the Dubuque Police, along with the Dubuque County Sheriff’s Department and the Iowa State Patrol, conducted a multi-agency special traffic enforcement project in the immediate areas around Dubuque Schools.
The project was funded through the Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau with the intention of reminding motorists of the importance of traffic safety as the end of the school year nears and the Memorial Day weekend arrives.
Law enforcement officers from the above agencies issued both traffic citations and warning citations during the project, which ran from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The specific number & nature of offenses were as follows:
