The Dubuque Police K-9 Unit, comprised of handler Officer Brian Wullweber and his partner Doerak, recently returned from the 2011 K-9 Olympics held in Denver, Indiana, hosted by American Working Dog and Vohne Liche Kennels.
The Dubuque Police K-9 Unit, comprised of handler Officer Brian Wullweber and his partner Doerak, recently returned from the 2011 K-9 Olympics held in Denver, Indiana, hosted by American Working Dog and Vohne Liche Kennels. They placed 2nd in overall narcotics team along with K-9 Units from the Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office. Officer Wullweber and Doerak also finished 10th out of 77 teams in vehicle interior narcotic detection; 8th out of 77 teams in open area narcotic detection; 5th out of 99 teams in area search for man; 29th out of 100 teams in control; 16th out of 98 teams in bite/no-bite scenario & tactics; and 5th out of 71 teams in the two mile obstacle course – finishing ahead of K-9 teams from both the Army Rangers and the Green Berets. Officer Wullweber and Doerak returned to Dubuque this week with a trophy/plaque for the above-mentioned second place finish, adding it to several others earned in competitions spanning their 4½ year partnership.
