On March 26th, 2012 at 5:18 p.m., Dubuque Police responded to 2271 ½ Washington Street on the report of a stabbing. The investigation revealed Latesa M. Crockrom 09/08/88 of that address was arguing with an acquaintance, Chrisopher M. Brown 04/16/92 of 554 W. 8th Street, and ultimately stabbed him in the upper chest. Brown was transported to Mercy Hospital for treatment and remains there with what is believed to be a non-life-threatening injury. Crockrom was arrested for Willful Injury (Causing Serious Injury), a Class C Felony punishable by up to 10 years incarceration and a fine between $1,000 and $10,000. She remains in the Dubuque County Jail on a bond of $15,000 cash or surety.
As with any criminal case, the charges filed are allegations and any suspect(s) charged are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law.
