Dubuque Police have arrested David M. Kuhlman, DOB: 03/26/91 of 3728 Pennsylvania Ave. #26 and charged him with Burglary 1st Degree for his alleged involvement in the home invasion and subsequent stabbing of Michael P. Curran, DOB: 06/02/58 of 1270 Mt. Pleasant Street on May 1st, 2012 at 10:52 p.m. Investigators received information late Sunday, May 6th, that led to the execution of search warrants on Kuhlman’s residence and a vehicle where items of evidentiary value were located. Investigators also located and interviewed Kuhlman. He ultimately confessed to his involvement and is now in custody at the Dubuque County Jail, awaiting his initial court appearance. Kuhlman is a former roommate of Curran, and the stabbing is believed to be the result of issues that developed while living together.
Burglary 1st Degree is a Class B Felony punishable by up to 25 years in prison. The investigation remains ongoing and additional charges are possible.
