[ARCHIVED] Windsor Avenue House Fire Under Investigation

On July 17th, 2012 at 5:40 p.m., Dubuque Fire and Police personnel responded to 2525 Windsor Avenue on the report of a structure fire.

On July 17th, 2012 at 5:40 p.m., Dubuque Fire and Police personnel responded to 2525 Windsor Avenue on the report of a structure fire. Upon arrival the residence was fully engulfed and despite initial reports of two children still inside, firefighters did not locate anyone and no injuries were reported. Due to the extremely hot weather, additional firefighters were called to the scene in order to rotate personnel, and several were evaluated for heat exhaustion but were able to return to duty. The residence is believed to be a complete loss with the cause of the fire listed as suspicious. The residence is owned by Donna Meier of East Dubuque, IL and was occupied by tenant Christopher Meier, his girlfriend and two children. The investigation remains ongoing with no further information available at this time.
