On May 20th, 2013, at 7:01 p.m., Dubuque Police and Fire personnel responded to the 1500 block of Main Street on the report of a child struck by a motor vehicle.
On May 20th, 2013, at 7:01 p.m., Dubuque Police and Fire personnel responded to the 1500 block of Main Street on the report of a child struck by a motor vehicle. The investigation revealed Edgar D. Joel, 3, of Dubuque, ran east into the street and was struck by a northbound vehicle operated by Donald M. Makovec, 02/22/54, of 2975 Davenport Street, Dubuque. Joel suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics where he died the afternoon of May 21st, 2013.
The crash remains under investigation and no charges have been filed.
