A plugged sanitary sewer pipe caused an off road sanitary sewer manhole to overflow in the Knob Hill Drive area last night, causing untreated wastewater to flow on to the ground around the manhole.
DUBUQUE, IOWA - A plugged sanitary sewer pipe caused an off road sanitary sewer manhole to overflow in the Knob Hill Drive area last night, causing untreated wastewater to flow on to the ground around the manhole.
The City of Dubuque Public Works Department was notified of the problem at approximately 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 17. Crews were dispatched to the area, the pipe blockage was removed and flow directed back into the pipe by 6:00 p.m.
The Iowa Department of Natural Resources cautions people to keep their children and pets away from the noted area, which is posted, for forty-eight (48) hours.
