[ARCHIVED] Plugged Pipe Causes Sanitary Sewer Overflow

DUBUQUE, IOWA – A plugged sanitary sewer pipe in an off-road area between Miners Lane and Creek Wood Dr. has caused untreated wastewater to flow onto the ground.

DUBUQUE, IOWA – A plugged sanitary sewer pipe in an off-road area between Miners Lane and Creek Wood Dr. has caused untreated wastewater to flow onto the ground.

The City of Dubuque Public Works Department discovered the overflowing sanitary sewer manhole this morning at 11:30 a.m. Crews worked to remove the blockage from the manhole and flow was directed back into the pipe by 2:30 p.m.

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources cautions people to keep their children and pets away from the noted area, which is posted, for forty-eight (48) hours.
