On November 11th, 2016, Dubuque Police responded to the Oky-Doky Food Mart at 535 Hill Street on the report of an armed robbery.
On November 16th, Dubuque Police also responded to the report of an armed robbery at Subway restaurant at 2200 JFK Road. The subsequent investigation led to the development of a suspect in both cases, Alexander J. Brenner, 08/01/95, of 1219 Buchanan Street, Des Moines. A warrant charging 2 counts of Robbery 1st Degree was sought and issued for Brenner. Police in Urbandale, Iowa, arrested Brenner on Saturday, December 10th, on said warrant. Brenner was transported to the Dubuque County Jail on December 12th and is being held on $50,000 cash bond.
