[ARCHIVED] American Red Cross Lifeguarding Classes held at the Dubuque Community Y

The Leisure Services Department is offering a Lifeguard Certification class at the Dubuque Community Y in February.


Through videos, group discussion and hands-on practice, you'll learn teamwork, rescue and surveillance skills, First Aid and CPR/AED and other skills you need to work as a professional lifeguard. Successful completion results in a 2-year certification in Lifeguarding that includes first aid, professional-level CPR and AED in one certificate. 


Prerequisites: Must be at least 15 years of age and pass certain swimming requirements. Students must be present for each day of training, no exceptions.


Lifeguard Certification classes are held at the Dubuque Community Y on the following dates/times:

Friday, February 3rd from 5:00 to 9:00 pm

Saturday, February 4th from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm

Sunday, February 5th from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm


Activity number is 9700.320. Registration fee is $160.
